You definitely need to have some sewing experience and quilting experience is highly recommended. The instructions do not cover how to sandwich, quilt or bind the project.

All of the patterns are for use with fusible webbing (I use Steam a Seam). Some experience in applique would be helpful, but not entirely necessary if you choose one of the less complicated patterns. The fewer the pieces in a pattern the less complicated. I satin stitch around all the pieces and in some patterns I use free motion stitching. If you have never satin stitch before, try a practice piece before working on a quilt top.

The more complicated patterns, such as "Hide & Seek" or "Tiger" require the same skills, just a little more patience and fussing to get all the pieces into their proper places.

The patterns can be used for other types of appliqué, but remember that the yardage listed does not include an extra ¼" required for needle turn appliqué.
